In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable central location — Guests consistently rate the position as a top perk — a 5-minute walk to Plaza Mayor and easy access to Metro stations, shops, and dining.
  • Helpful, English-speaking staff — Several reviews highlight the reception team's warmth and efficiency, including going out of their way to assist with tickets or heating water.
  • Clean rooms with modern touches — Despite some dated furniture comments, many guests describe the property as spotless and updated, with balconies and rain showers in some rooms.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Noise from the central location — Being in the heart of Madrid means street noise can be an issue, though several guests noted it was acceptable for the location.
  • Rooms can feel small — Some guests found the rooms compact, which may be a consideration for those expecting more space.
  • Value for money questioned — A few reviews suggest the price may not match the condition of the furniture or amenities, with one guest recommending cheaper hostals for budget travellers.

“Clean hotel with helpful reception staff. The location was perfect for our visit to the Prado Museum, just a 10-15 minute walk away.”

“Location is excellent — close to the best of a lot of things.”

“Good central location, a good-sized room, and a comfortable bed.”

“We nearly cancelled after reading TripAdvisor comments, but went anyway. I can see why some complaints exist: tired furniture, an uncomfortable bed, and old blankets in 2011 — at €110 a night. Not dirty, but finding hairs at €120 a night is poor. It was noisy, but that's the location, and it was acceptable. My main gripe: why do hotels have glass bathroom doors with no lock? Not ideal for couples. No kettle or tea-making facilities, and the TV was basic Spanish despite claims of multi-language. Fantastic location, but if you're on a budget, a hostal at €60 a night might be better — you'll be disappointed if you expect more for the price.”

“Very convenient location, rooms are small but comfortable, and breakfast is quite nice.”
